Ingredients

1: box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® yellow or butter recipe yellow cake mix

1/3: cup water

1 1/3: cups creamy peanut butter

1/3: cup butter or margarine, softened

1: egg

2: tablespoons sugar

Directions

1 Heat oven to 375°F (350°F for dark or nonstick cookie sheets). In large bowl, beat half of the cake mix, the water, peanut butter, butter and eggs with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth, or mix with spoon. Stir in remaining cake mix.
2 On ungreased cookie sheet, drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart. Flatten in crisscross pattern with fork dipped in sugar.
3 Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack. Store covered.

These turned out perfectly and tasted even better. So few ingredients makes it so easy. I didn't have the problem of raising too much like others. I think the trick is to make sure the 1st mixing is until smooth. Followed recipe exactly and they were just perfect. No cake taste- just pure PB cookie :) Will keep this recipe on hand!!

This is absolutely the best peanut butter cookie recipe I have tried! The cookies stay soft, and they have so much peanut butter flavor. I was surprised that they don't have a cake mix taste after they're baked, because the dough did tast a bit cake mixy to me. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious they are, and this is the only peanut butter cookie recipe I will use from now on.
