Love this recipe and featured it on my blog- the only thing I changed was using brown sugar in place of molasses and I also used a loaf pan. This is also delicious with almonds or raisins mixed in. http://peaceloveorganicmommy.blogspot.com/2012/12/old-fashioned-gingerbread.html

To Die for! Very moist, flavorful - perfect balance of sweet and spicy. I chose to top mine with a orange cream cheese icing. I also added some grated candied ginger to the cake as well. I'm thrilled to have this recipe. Guess what everyone is getting for Christmas this year?

This is reminds me of the year 1969 when my mom would make Gingerbread and my cousins and I would run inand out the house stealing a slice when my mom would leave it on the counter. Boy did we get in trouble, but it was worth it. I had been looking for this recipe for years and I am so happy that I found it. Even the people at my church is still asking me to make this cake again.

Now this is REAL gingerbread! Heavy on the molasses and spices...I also added 1/8 tsp. of cloves...and not too sweet. Very much in keeping with my New England roots. I served it warm with a tangy lemon sauce and, oh my, talk about wonderful...

This is by far the closest thing to my gramma''s when I was young. We love gingerbread at our house and I have made this several times. It brings ya right back to days gone by...warm & fuzzy!!!
