I have made this recipe 3 times, & every time it has disappeared quickly. Everyone raves about the combination of oatmeal & cranberries. I've never cared for lemon zest (don't like the taste), so I substitute pure lemon extract instead, & I like the light lemon flavor I can detect. The second time I made them was for work, & I'd made two other items...these bars went the fastest! The last time I made these were for church potluck, & there was one lady who really liked these. And she told me she normally never likes things with cranberries in them! Definitely a recipe I'll keep making!

This were great. I substituted 1 1/2 teaspoons of orange peel for the lemon peel. A natural with cranberries. I have made three batches of these in the last week for holiday snacks and for my neighbors. They are easy to make and very yummy. I do recommend the orange peel.

I made them exactly as the recipe instructed... wonderful! Perfect for a sweet breakfast treat or anytime. It really surprised me how good they were, can't wait to make again. Some people commented that they omitte the lemon... I think the lemon is what ties all the flavors together, so tasty!

I used Betty Crocker Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix and eliminated the grated lemon. This recipe is fabulous! Chewy, chocolately, and just the right amount of "good for you" cranberries. YUM!

I absolutely love this recipe. I have "personalized" it to our taste by omitting lemon peel and using walnuts rather than pecans. These bars freeze well...I tend to make a batch, individually wrap with plastic wrap, and enjoy one now and then for breakfast.
