Ingredients

Crust

1
pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ oatmeal cookie mix
1/2
cup butter, softened
1
tablespoon water
1
egg

Filling

1
tablespoon butter
1/3
cup packed brown sugar
3
tablespoons evaporated milk (from 12-oz can)
1/2
teaspoon vanilla
2
large pears, peeled, thinly sliced

Topping

1
pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ oatmeal cookie mix
1/2
cup butter, softened

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F. Spray bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
  • 2 In medium bowl, stir together crust ingredients until dough forms. Press in pan. Bake 15 minutes.
  • 3 Meanwhile, in small saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar until combined. Add milk; heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Arrange sliced pears on partially baked cookie crust. Drizzle brown sugar mixture over pears.
  • 4 In medium bowl, mix topping ingredients with fork until crumbly. Sprinkle over filling; press down lightly.
  • 5 Bake 20 minutes or until topping is golden brown. Cool in pan on cooling rack at least 15 minutes. Cut into 6 rows by 4 rows.

Make sure the pears are ripe or close to ripe for this recipe.

Any variety of pear will work in these bars—use your favorite.
