This is a very good recipe. I am 64 now and my mother made thi frequently when I was a child. Orignally, I think there were some variations in the cookbook with this recipe. Mom used to make an Orange fruit and nut with the Bisquick mix. Orange juice was used in the recipe. Are those variations still available or listed?

My mama made this for me all the time when I was a very young girl... back in the early 50's...The recipe is still being used by me today...at 67 years old. I never could wait until it cooled. It is wonderful hot from the oven (if you can wait about 5 or 6 minutes...) Hot with cold butter or margarine spread over it and a glass of milk. I always have Bisquick on hand (it is a staple here)...think I will go make some now.

Just made this bread today. It turned out delicious with 1 cup walnuts and 1/2 cup pecans, chopped. Very moist. Thank you.
