bottles (750 ml each) dry red wine
1/2
cup brandy

cup honey

oranges, thinly sliced

cinnamon sticks

whole cloves

teaspoon whole allspice
  1. In Dutch oven or 3-quart saucepan, mix all ingredients except additional cinnamon sticks. Heat uncovered to simmering over low heat. Simmer 1 hour, being careful not to boil.
  2. Pour mixture through strainer into heatproof pitcher or punch bowl; serve warm. Garnish with additional cinnamon sticks and orange slices, if desired.
