  1. Dissolve 3 yeast cakes and 1/2 cup warm water and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Stir 1/2 warm milk, and a little flour and mix into yeast mixture until it makes a paste. Allow to rise 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Then mix 1/2 cup sugar,1/2 cup melted butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon butter flavor, 4 beaten egg yolks, 2 cups warm milk alternately with flour until you have a satin dough. Let rise until you have double in bulk. Take half of the dough and roll out onto floured board. It should be 1/2 to 1 inch thick.
  3. Cut with biscuit cutter and place on pan, butter and punch down in the center.
  4. Put fruit filling in and crumble sugar on top. Bake at 375 - 400 degree preheated oven until browned. Take out and butter.
  5. Sugar Crumble: 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup butter, about 1/2 cup flour to make a crumble.
