I just made these with my 5yr old daughter and to be honest it was just ok. She enjoyed measuring and pouring the ingredients but when it came to stirring it all, it was too hard, the shortening had to be whisked a lot, and once we added the bisquick and oats, it was pretty tough. I measured out with a 1/4 cup and I only got 16 cookies. I baked them for 10 min and shortly after they came out the oven they were nice and soft but once they cooled completely they got hard. My 5yr old didn't care for them they were just ok for me.
