  1. Make yellow cake mix according to package directions using oil, eggs, water. Mix in 1 very ripe banana. Bake one 8-inch round cake for large monkey face and one 4-inch round cake for small monkey. Bake one mini cupcake and one regular size cupcake for ears. (Each ear is one half cupcake.) Bake a small amount of batter in two foil-lined bowls to make the monkey face stand out. Bake according to directions for cupcakes and round cakes.
  2. Remove cakes from pans and cool completely. Freeze cake pieces covered so they will be easier to frost. Tint the white frosting with a small amount of the chocolate to make a light brown color. Assemble and frost monkeys following photo. Improvise where needed. Decorate with candies.
