My glaze was hard. Any ideas? It was not gooey at all. What did I do wrong? The flavor was great.

This made a decent coffee cake, but it was nothing like real monkey bread. The dough was cakelike, rather than breadlike. You can't pull it apart because it crumbles. It could be improved by putting half of the butter/sugar mixture in the bottom and half over the top. The cinnamon sugar mixture would be better with half as much sugar. Putting all that extra sugar on top just added calories and made it drier.

So good! I didn’t use the nuts or raisons; also, I didn’t have the pan they suggested so I used a 9x13 and laid them all across. I cooked for 35 minutes to make the tops a little crunchy. The whole family was shocked that I made them and they were not store bought!

Sinfully delicious! Just made this recipe. Used a 9x9 pan; should have used my 9x12 (didn't have a tube pan). It was easy to make and was definitely moist, ooey and gooey. It IS very sweet and only a small piece is plenty big enough. I will make it again but not right away; it could become addicting!

I was very excited to see what looked like a very easy Monkey Bread recipe with ingredients that I most always have on hand. I thought I would try it for when the kids got home from school as a fun treat, for they love cinnamon rolls. Well, like the other reviews after baking the bread was dry and crumbly almost hard (I know I didn't overcook, because I put it on for about a quarter of the time at a lower temp). When making the caramel sauce, it looked/smelled/tasted great. I poured this into the pan, made the dough (easy enough), assembled and cooked. Let the bread cool for stated 10min. and then flipped onto plate. Very disappointed that the caramel sauce actually sugared (very granular). How disappointed that this recipe didn't work. I won't be keeping this one. Would only give this recipe 1/2 spoon, it was easy, just didn't work for me!!

Not sure where they got the "stock photo" from, but this recipe definitely did not turn out the way I expected. Had I read the other reviews first, I probably would have never made it, but having read it AFTER I tasted it, they supported everything I was already thinking. Doughy, crumbly and dry!

It seemed good in theory. I cut this recipe in half, but I got the same results as many of the other complaints. My bread was moist, but yet the texture was crumbly. I went to flip out my monkey bread, and my sauce was not caramel. I ended up having to microwave for 30 secs to get back caramel consistency and even then it wasn't all that great. I think I would have had better luck coating the bottom of the pan with melted butter and sprinkling the brown sugar and pecans pieces to get the consistency that I was looking for, for an ooey, gooey, caramel. I may try that next time.
