Excellent, timeless recipe, but skip the water droplets part -- this makes the sugar look very strange on top.

FANTASTIC! Made these for Christmas this year and everyone LOVED them. All 48 of them were gone in less than two days. Huge hit, definitely recommend them.

Iv been making these giant delicious cookies for years...but my Betty Crocker cookbook is falling apart and I cant find the page this recipe is on. To keep them soft and chewy I put in a fresh peice of bread and they go fast! Im gonna use red and green sugar to make them more christmasy! : )

I have been making these cookies since 1957. I recieved my first cookbook from our school book fair and this was one of the first cookies I ever made. Infact, I still have this cookbook "Betty Crocker's Cook Book for Boys and Girls"

I made these and 5 other kinds of Betty Crocker cookies as Christmas gifts last year. This cookie was the favorite of everyone I gave them to. It beat out the buttery chocolate chip!!

This cookie is a family favorite. I had issues with the cookies not flattening when they cooked. I ended up calling my mom who has an OLD BC cookbook and she said that the original directions actually tell you to flatten the cookie before baking it. My second, third, and fourth batch came out perfect! I found that the longer the dough stayed in the fridge, the better the cookies came out.

Wow! These are really good. My 7 year old loves them! It smelled like Christmas coming out of the oven. Very easy too! If the first pan comes out flat, add 1/4 c. flour and waalaa. A small ball-scoop makes work super quick and no sticky hands. We will be making these EVERY Christmas.
