I'm also from CO, my top didn't look like the pic, either. But my co-workers had no complaints! My instant coffee granules didn't dissolve into the sweetened condensed milk. I think next time I'd add just a drop of water to dissolve the coffee crystals before mixing them with the milk. But everyone seemed to like them a lot!

Well, mine don't look as good as the picture. But that's probably my fault. I think I overbaked them...living at CO altitude sometimes messes stuff up. BUT....I made a fix by making a chocolate 'ganache' type topping by melting choc. chips with a little oil and spreading over the top after the pan is completely cool. Then you put in fridge for a hour or so to set up the top...covered up the too brown top and still tasted great.

Easy, don't cost a smal, fortune and taste GREAT!!!!!! What more could you want! I used dark chocolate chunks, walnuts and instant coffee. Excellent! Am making for Thanksgiving and probably Christmas!

These bars are fantastic!! Really rich and so easy to prepare. I used dark chocolate chips and walnuts but left out the instant coffee granules. I sent some to work with my husband and everybody wanted the recipe! Thanks for a great bar cookie.

Made these bars for a potluck at my job and they were a huge hit! They were very easy to prepare!!! Great for a potluck or large group and like GramRene said they are rich enough that you can cut them into bite size pieces to stretch them for larger groups!!!!

These are very easy to make and taste really good. I used a dark chocolate instant coffee for flavoring which was very good. I will make these again as I can cut it so that it makes a lot of bite size treats to go a long way. Since it is has a nice rich flavor you don't need a really big piece to be satisfied.
