MVelez, somehow I missed your tasteless comment. Wish I hadn't, because you are right!!! I needed something within 30 minutes, pulled this recipe, and skipped over your comment. They shouldn't be called muffins. There is no muffin texture and no taste. Ladies please rate the recipes as they are and not with your change-ups, additions, etc. You shouldn't have to put frosting on something to make it taste good. A muffin, cupcake, cookie or cake should each be good on it's own and the taste should build from there.

These were... different. The batter was more liquidy and they just don't have a muffin texture. I mixed white chocolate chips in as well to give it more of a sweet taste.

I made these with applesauce instead of oil, egg substitute, and both white & milk chocolate chips. They stayed pretty moist. The mix of the chocolate chips and the less sweet muffin came out to a nice level of sweetness that wasn't overpowering. I skipped the topping because I was going more for breakfast than dessert. My only complaint is that there was almost no coffee flavor in the muffin, I'll definitely up the granules next time.

I have made these quite a few times. I added extra coffee granules to it, and use white chocolate chips in the topping. It is out of this world good! With an orange and one of these muffins, breakfast is looked forward to!

Wasn't a huge fan of these. I followed the recipe exactly. They were very dense and not as sweet as I thought they would be. Maybe a little extra coffee and sugar would have given them more flavor?

These muffins are good, but need more sugar, I made them with 1/2 cup brown sugar instead of 1/3. They turned out good. also I added more instant coffee 1.5 TB instead of one TB.

The flavor was good. The muffins were simply too dense to be a muffin. They were more like a pound cake. I added some cinnamon to the chocolate icing drizzle and that was delicious. I might try them again sometime when I have time to really work with the recipe a bit.

These were not bad, but a little bitter and very heavy. They were almost more like a pound cake than a muffin. I added a chocolate and cinnamon glaze over them to add some sweetness. Not bad.

I have made these for my Young Adult Group several times & have received rave reviews for them. They are great paired with a cup of coffee. A great way to start the morning.
