Meat and Veggie Burgers

Add a serving of greens to your favorite hamburgers easily with this recipe twist.

Ingredients

1
lb lean ground beef
1
pouch (4 oz) 100% spinach purée
1
egg
1/2
teaspoon salt
1/8
teaspoon pepper

Directions

  • 1 Heat grill. In bowl, mix all ingredients. Shape mixture into 4 patties, 1/2 inch thick.
  • 2 Place patties on grill over medium heat. Cover grill; cook 10-12 min, turning once, until meat thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 160°F.

Expert Tips

Serve on buns with lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup and mustard, if desired.

To cook on a contact grill, heat closed medium-size contact grill for 5 minutes. Place patties on grill. Close grill. Cook 4 to 6 minutes or until an instant-read meat thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 160°F and patties are no longer pink in center.
