LOCATION

Directions

  • 1 Cut beef into thin strips (beef is easier to cut if partially frozen, about 1 1/2 hours). Heat oil and garlic pepper in 10-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook beef in oil, stirring occasionally, until brown.
  • 2 Stir in vegetables and gravy; reduce heat to medium. Cover and simmer 7 to 9 minutes, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are tender.

EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

Boneless, skinless chicken breasts and chicken gravy can be substituted for the sirloin and beef gravy to create a whole new delicious dinner.

The frozen potato, carrot, celery and onion mixture called for in this recipe may be labeled "vegetables for stew" or "stew vegetables."

I used fresh veggies instead of frozen ones had too cook it longer than suggested obviously, but my family loved it. My son cleaned his plate, and my daughter who is very picky even ate most of what i put on her plate! Putting this in my recipe box for sure!

For an extra tangy twist, add a little bit of worcestire sause or A1. They love it in my house this way.

Lets start off with how easy it was. On a scale of 0 to 10, how easy was it? 10 being the best ever! I picked up fresh stew meat, I recut them into bite sized pieces. Took a fat red potato, washed it, speared it with a fork several times, rubbed veggie oil all over it, popped it in the micro for 10 mins. Turning it over half way through the cooking. Took out a frozen bag of mixed veggies, peas, carrots, green beans, corn and also added half a red onion. WOW!!! All the dishes I've made in this lifetime, PALED in comparison to this tasty treat! I made a big old batch when my son came for a visit with his eldest daughter, (4) and time was well spent with them instead of cooking for long times. I added a bit of garlic powder and it smells Heavenly in here! I am trying the jar of gravy mix, which also is a first for me, I've always used the packets at the store. Not a bad gravy I may add! Enjoy and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all along with angel hugs for everyone! Francine
