Mascarpone and Pistachio Toasts

Ingredients

  • 4 oz mascarpone cheese (about 1/2 cup), softened
  • 18 slices (1/4 inch thick) baguette French bread
  • 1/3 cup pistachio nuts (about 2 oz), coarsely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons thinly sliced fresh basil leaves

Steps

    Heat oven to 350°F. Spread cheese on each bread slice. Place in single layer in ungreased 15x10x1-inch pan. Sprinkle nuts over cheese.

    Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until edges of bread are light golden.
  • 3
    Drizzle honey over top of each toast. Garnish with basil.

  • If mascarpone isn't available, you can still make these tasty toasts. Use 4 ounces of cream cheese, softened, instead.
  • Spray your tablespoon with cooking spray to keep the honey from sticking when you measure it.
