Marinara Sauce with Spaghetti

Ingredients

  • 4 cans (14.5 oz each) Muir Glen™ organic diced tomatoes with Italian herbs, undrained
  • 1 can (6 oz) Muir Glen™ organic tomato paste
  • 1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
  • 8 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive or vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 24 oz uncooked spaghetti
  • Shredded Parmesan cheese, if desired

    Spray 3- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In cooker, mix all ingredients except spaghetti and cheese.

    Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 10 hours.

    Cook and drain spaghetti as directed on package. Serve sauce over spaghetti. Sprinkle with cheese.

  • This all-purpose sauce is so easy to make that you'll want to make it often and keep a few extra containers in the freezer. Ladle the cooked sauce into airtight freezer containers; cover and freeze up to 1 month.
  • Try serving this sauce with penne, rotini or your family's favorite pasta.
