EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

For an authentic margarita flavor, use 2 tablespoons tequila and 2 tablespoons orange juice instead of the 1/4 cup orange juice.

To reduce the fat to 4g and the calories to 60 per serving, use reduced-fat cream cheese in place of the regular cream cheese and 1 cup frozen (thawed) fat-free whipped topping instead of the whipping cream.

Rub the rim of a serving bowl with a lemon, lime or orange half, then dip the rim of the bowl into a shallow dish of colored sugar.

I made this last year for a friends 50th bday party. It was a BIG hit! I served it with strawberries, apple slices and whatever else I found. Been a year ago I don't remember everything. LOL But I'm going to make again for same friends son's wedding reception party this weekend. O, I didn't do the alcohol version. Wanted to make sure it was any good first. But may add the alcohol this time. ;-)

Another HUGE hit at our 4th of July party! I made this on a Friday and we had it on Sunday and it was AMAZING. Just had to stir before serving, as it was a bit liquidy, but it was gone within minutes. I didn't do the alcoholic version, but think I may next time. Also, I forgot the lime peel, but no one seemed to notice. Served with strawberries, grapes and pineapple.
