not a big fan nor were they a big hit. REally didnt taste much like a margarita...was too lemon tasting. Overall they were not horrible tasting, just was not what I expected the flavor to be.

I am VERY curious how you turned them into cake balls melgotserved? did you put the pretzels inside? Did you use pretzels at all? Did you use a different icing? What kind?

This was a phenomenal recipe with the modifications that we made. We decided to take the previous suggestion and use whipped icing instead of whipped cream for the frosting. We also had to use lime juice instead of peel. For a kicked up cupcake we decided to slice the center of the cupcake half-way and pour a bit of tequila before frosting.. it was INCREDIBLE.

These were pretty good, but I agree with some of the other reviewers - the pretzel mixture made way too much and I had a lot of wasted pretzels. I wasn't crazy about the topping but did get great reviews from friends on the flavor & moistness of the cake, as well as the creative pretzel crust! I will make again, but do like some others did and come up with a different topping. Thanks for such a great and unique recipe Betty Crocker!

I made these for Cinco De Mayo, but I used a different frosting. I made a tequila lime frosting and used a salt and sugar mix (more sugar than salt) on the rim of the frosted cupcake. The pretzels on the bottom were enough so I didn't use any on the top. I sent a bunch with my husband to work, and he came back with lots of compliments. Someone said that the pretzels on the bottom were "genius." They were really different and delicious.

These were very good. Didn't quite understand why they needed the pretzel crust on the bottom. If I make them again, I will leave that part out. The crushed pretzels on the top were all that was needed.

I made these as cake balls for a party using a different frosting than the recipe listed and man, did these get compliments. The cake is so delicious. I could eat this cake without frosting it was so good. I added a smidge more zest since I love lime, but I will definitely make this cake again. So good!

I made these for Cinco de Mayo and everyone at work LOVED them! 1 1/2 cups of pretzels was way too much, like the reviewer below states. I also wonder at the fact that there's no instructions about refrigeration. Co-workers remarked at how "refreshing" these cupcakes are. Might be best served with a shot of Cuervo.
