slices bacon

cup milk chocolate chips

cups half-and-half or whipping cream

cup whole milk

cup real maple syrup
1
cup sugar
1
teaspoon maple flavor

teaspoons bourbon, if desired
  1. In 10-inch skillet, cook bacon until crisp; drain on paper towels.
  2. In small microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips uncovered on High about 30 seconds; stir until melted and smooth. Coat 1 side of each bacon slice with chocolate; let stand until set.
  3. Meanwhile, in medium bowl, stir half-and-half, milk, syrup, sugar, maple flavor and bourbon with whisk. Pour into ice-cream freezer and freeze according to manufacturer’s directions.
  4. Cut chocolate-coated bacon into small pieces; stir into ice cream. Transfer to freezer container. Cover; freeze 2 hours or until serving time.

Save your stovetop from splatters and bake the bacon on a foil-lined cookie sheet at 400°F for 10 to 15 minutes until crisp.
For Maple-Walnut Ice Cream, substitute toasted chopped walnuts for the bacon. Omit the melted chocolate chips, and stir the nuts into the ice cream after the freezing time in the ice-cream freezer.
