Make this creamy, herb-flecked casserole, with cooked turkey and a splash of sherry, in advance to save time.

This recipe is fantastic! I first made it the day after Thanksgiving last year with leftover turkey, and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it turned out. It's pretty simple to make overall. I have served it with greenbeans and bread. A tasty different way to have turkey!

I love this recipe, although I never make it ahead of time. Also, I cube and cook up chicken from boneless, skinless breasts instead of buying a turkey meat and it still tastes just great! One time I used canned mushrooms instead of fresh and, although I'm not normally a food snob and am all about easy, I have to admit that there was a difference in taste (i.e., fresh mushroom really do make a better-tasting dish).

Can this recipe be frozen before baking? If yes, what would be the cooking time? I would like to double the recipe and save one casserole.

I, too, have used this recipe for several yrs now, and my family just loves it! Chicken can be used instead of turkey if that's what you have on hand. Believe it or not, shrimp or crab are just as good in this dish as the poultry. I always use the sherry, as well, as it adds a nice nuttiness to the flavor. This one is definitely a keeper!

Yum-O!! I used light butter and fat free half and half and omitted the sherry, it was delicious!! It's a "keeper" per my finicky husband!!

I have used this recipe many times and we love it every time. I have found that, if I use chicken (usually leftover roast chicken from the store) it tastes just as good. I also substitute white wine for the sherry. I cook it as soon as it is assembled because I can't wait to eat it. It's great.

This is our family turkey terazzini recipe also. I usually use turkey broth and the leftover meat from Thanksgiving, or we boil thighs and drumsticks when on sale. I don't usually add the parsley and I ALWAYS use the sherry. It gives such a great flavor. Also, I've NEVER refrigerated it. It's a great, cozy recipe and really makes me look forward to cool weather!

This is the recipe I have made for years from the cookbook. It is wonderful comfort food. Not hard to make and the parmesean cheese makes a nice crunch. What's deceiving is the 9 hour total time it takes to make. Just pop it in the oven as soon as you've finished mixing it all together and bake.
