Betty Crocker® mac & cheese tops sloppy joe filling for an unbeatable family-favorite supper combo!
box (7 oz) Betty Crocker™ mac & cheese original
Margarine and milk called for on mac & cheese box
lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
cup sliced green onions (8 medium)
can (15.5 oz) sloppy joe sauce
cup shredded Cheddar-Monterey Jack cheese blend (2 oz)
Heat oven to 350°F. Make mac & cheese as directed on box.
Meanwhile, in 10-inch skillet, heat beef and green onions over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in sloppy joe sauce. Cook 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly heated.
Spoon mixture into ungreased 1 1/2-quart casserole. Spoon mac & cheese evenly over meat mixture. Sprinkle with cheese.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and mixture is hot.
For a touch of crunch, sprinkle top of casserole with crushed corn or tortilla chips after baking.
Make it your way--use ground turkey or chicken instead of the beef if you prefer.
