I found this recipe in my standard BC cookbook. In the book it says to bake the meringue for 12-15 minutes until brown. This recipe online says 8-12 minutes. Also the book called for 3 tablespoons cornstarch but online it called for 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon. I wish I had seen the online recipe first. The meringue was great and the flavor is awesome but it has not set up. Not sure why any ideas other than the difference in the cornstarch amount? What about the time for baking the meringe? I was really disappointed. However, my cookbook is over 37 years old.Maybe I need an updated one.

I had alot of trouble with this recipe. There wasn't enough crust to fill the pie pan. Also, the filling turned out very runny and it could have had more meringue on top too.

We had a relative who used to make tart lemon meringue pies from lemonade. So rather than do this hap hazardly I decided to work with a recipe. Well this recipe was chosen over 32 yrs. ago only alteration I made was cut the sugar to 1/2 cup which accomplished my request for TART lemon merigue pies. Our family has raved for years over these pies. They get in line first for the pies because they know they won't last long! Thanks Betty Crocker for the help!

I have tried different recipes and this is my favorite lemon meringue pie. It sets well and it is my son's favorite pie period. I am making it for his birthday instead of a cake...

This was easy to make... Only thing though was that it was too sour. I might make this again but might not put too much of the lemon zest next time.

absolutely amazing! It is the coveted pie at all our family Thanksgivings. We usually make 2 pies, and there is never any left! It's the perfect amount of sweet and tart! Delicious. I might have to make one tonight!

This recipe is what I have used for over 30 years and was made often but particularly for my father''s yearly birthday pie. He loved it as his favorite pie and the rest of the family always enjoyed it as well. I recently had my kitchen remodeled and somehow lost this page for lemon meringue pie from the Betty Crocker Cookbook in the packing and unpacking of my kitchen. I thought I had this recipe committed to memory but had not made it for over a year after my father died. So I was very glad to find it again on the Betty Crocker web site. Other recipes do not measure up to this one.
