EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

Look for gel food coloring in baking supply stores and larger grocery stores. Regular liquid food colors will thin the frosting too much.

I loved these cookies. I did use the sugar cookies refrigerator kind and the same icing as called for. The hardest part was cutting up all the candies. This did take nearly an hour. I did find yellow licorice buy ran out so used yellow frosting for wings and feathers. I let my kids decorate and they loved it. I took it to a school function and everyone wanted recipes
