Lemonade

Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup lemon juice (about 4 lemons)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • Lemon or orange slices, if desired
  • Fresh mint leaves, if desired

    In large pitcher, stir water, lemon juice and sugar until sugar is dissolved.
  • 2
    Serve lemonade over ice. Garnish with lemon slices and mint.

  • To maximize the amount of juice from a lemon, roll a room-temperature lemon back and forth on a counter with the palm of your hand, pressing down firmly.
  • Substitute 1 cup lime juice (about 10 limes) for the lemon juice; increase sugar to 3/4 cup. Garnish with lime slices and strawberries if desired.
