This is, without a doubt, one of the best tasting cakes I've ever made or tasted. It's light and very refreshing. I added 2 tbls. of lemon juice to the cake mix & to the frosting because my family loves anything lemon flavored. It's easy and sooooooooo good.

I loved this cake. If you add 1 cup of powdered sugar, its easy to decorate with. Keep chilled.

OMG! This cake was awesome. Everyone love how cool and refreshing this cake is. Please use "heavy whipping cream" you have to mix it well before it is stiff enough to spread as frosting. I also added 2 tablespoon of lemon juice to the cake mix and also to the frosting. In addition; I add 1 cup of powder sugar instead of 2/3 c and it turn out sooooooo good. I will make this cake over and over again my family loved it.

This is the most wonderful cake! Everyone in my family loved it, even Caleb that is 6 and he doesn't even like Lemon! My Daughter-in-law told me that this is her new favorite cake, which was hard to beat since her favorite use to be my from scratch Red Velvet cake. So I have to give this cake a a top rating if it beats my Red Velet, Awesome cake! If I must say so.

This cake was a hit it was amazing. I like that it wasn't heavy either. I did use 35% cream and the frosting did come out thick worked out perfect. I did add 2-3 tablespoons of jello lemon pudding to the frosting mix and it gave a really nice lemon taste. I had put lemon juice in the frosting but i didn't really taste lemon so the pudding worked perfect. Everyone loved it. I also used yellow cake mix and added 2T lemon juice. This one is a keepers :)

Yumm! I entered this cake in our yearly bake off at work, and it took 2nd place! The taste is incredible. I lost points on the presentation, as I cut the 'judging' piece too thin, so it didn't hold together as well as I would have liked, but all the judges (and everyone else) loved to taste! I did not have enough frosting, and had to make another batch of that, so I would recommend making at least 1 and 1/2 times the recipe for the frosting. And I did as others suggested and added more lemon juice into the frosting and into the cake batter, and used heavy whipping cream. It was really good. I will make it again for sure.

This cake was light and simple with a refreshing lemon flavor. I used heavy whipping cream (from good ole Walmart) and I had to blend the icing for several minutes on high speed before it was stiff enough to spread. I stored it in the fridge so it wouldn't get runny and we enjoyed it for several days. It's so light you'll always have room left for a slice. Yummy!

Scrumptious! We love this cake. We like it very lemon-y so I add lemon zest to cake mixture and I even squeeze a bit of lemon juice in frosting. My daughter said she would never be too full for a piece of this cake!

this is a very light & refreshing cake. Made it for my sister's birthday, I'm usually bringing them strawberry cakes, but wanted something different. This was good, very quick and tasty, did add more zest to the frosting and squeezed some lemon juice into the frosting as well- smelled great while mixing. Noticed that frosting gets a little runny if left out too long, so crumb coat your cake layers, put in fridge, then frost completely and keep in fridge until ready to eat, added some lemon slices on top and cake sprinkles- my family thought it looked better than a bakery cake. Thanks Betty Crocker! =D

This cake was a big hit with my family. I did change a few this. I had read the reviews first and I agree that HEAVY whipping cream should be used. Also, I added 2 tablespoons of lemon juice to the cake mix (great idea), and to the frosting. I chilled the frosting for about an hour before frosting the cake with it. Another great idea! Finally I decorated it with fresh lemon slices. It was gone that night! Good luck...
