This cake is delicious.. I couldn't find a can of lemon pie filling anywhere, so I made my own from a jello box, then filled the layers with it after it got cold. It came out perfect!!! everyone loved it.

I also couldn't find lemon pie filling so I made it from scratch from jello. it came out great. The only thing is that I couldn't really taste the orange in the cake which i was a little bummed about. Everyone just thought it was a lemon cake.

If you want an orange appearance you'll need a little food color otherwise the cake is a darker cream not orange. Another idea is use the french vanilla mix which is already darker. This cake doesn't taste orange - it has more of a citrus taste. The cake is good and is easy to layer. I also made my own filling and used a Lighter whip cream frosting. I used it for a gathering of friends and they loved it! Use the flowers on top - it is elegant.

This cake was easy to make and so delicious! We first had it at a friend''s house and my son who is not a cake eater devoured MY entire piece! He then spent the next few days begging me to make it at home. It is very light and as my mother put it "summery". I will definitely be baking this cake again! It is also a nice alternative for those who don''t like traditional chocolate or white cake.

I made this for Mother''s Day. It was great! The citrus flavor was very refreshing, and not over-powering. It was a hit. And it really wasn''t difficult. I will make this again.
