These are sooo delicious! I've been making them for years. I use applesauce instead of eggs (1/4 cup applesauce per egg). It makes them nice and light.

It sounds really good but it makes so many bars for my little family. Can the extras be frozen without ruining them?

These were amazing! I used the lemon cake mix, and it was perfect. The bars were creamy on top and chewy on the bottom. (but not too chewy) I only wish I had more of the frosting for the top to make it thicker, but it was still enough to spread over the bars. They taste even better the next day. If kept in the fridge they are great, but if you carry them to a funtion as I did, they don't taste as yummy when they reach room temp. Not sure if they should be kept out of the fridge long.

I love lemon desserts, this one did not turn out well for me. The crust ended up chewy and the cream cheese layer did not stick to the bottom layer when I removed them from the pan. I followed the recipe exactly, so I am not sure what went wrong. But I do have to say, the parts that were edible did taste good.

this recipe is not that far off from Paula Deans Gooey butter cake or what i make called Neuman Marcus bars. Both recipes bake the crust part a bit first and I think that may help some of you that think it is a bit soggy. And make sure you soften cream cheese at room temp and not the microwave. That will mess with the texture of the cream cheese. The flavor on this one is to die for.

i would recommend using the lemon cake mix, because I don't know if there would be enough lemon flavor if you use the yellow cake mix. overall, these were very good, but the pieces along the outside edge of the pan were a little too chewy and did not have as much of the cheesecake filling as the middle pieces had.

These were absolutely delicious and very easy to make. I made it with the yellow cake mix and added lemon flavor since I didn't have a lemon. I definitely plan to make these again and will try different flavors.

I had this recipe on my "to-bake" list and am just disappointed I didn't try it before now! It was so easy and was a perfect dessert for our Memorial Day BBQ. Everyone ate it with strawberries and blueberries on top and it was a perfect combo. I loved how light it was, yet still tasted creamy. And again, it was SO easy! You have to try this. I followed the recipe as posted, using lemon cake mix, and made them the night before. I refrigerated overnight and didn't have any issues with a soggy crust. It was a big hit!
