I made this for a party and it was a definite hit! I substituted sliced almonds for macadamia nuts because of their cost. 'Just as good, if not better. It really reminds me of a Publix Key Lime Pie when you use almonds.

This was absolutely delicious and once you juice the limes (I used regular Persian limes) it's not that hard. Everyone loved this and came back for seconds. I would really recommend it.

Very easy and delicious! If you make these be sure they are for a large group because it makes a ton. Since I made this for my husband and I, I ended up throwing out 3/4 of the pan after two weeks. Also very rich, so cut out small squares. I took everyone's advise and undercooked the crust by a minute or two and didn't pat it down. The crust turned out perfect...not hard to cut at all. Will make again.

I agree that the cookie crust was way too difficult to cut - next time I'll just use Graham Cracker crumbs and make a crust. Other than that, this is my new favorite cheesecake!

I made this dessert for Father's Day and it was gone!!! My husand and sone who usually don't care for nuts or coconut had seconds and then polished the tiny left overs when we were watching a movie the next night!!! You outdid yourself with this one.

My daughter made 2 pans of these for our annual 4th of July BBQ and they were a huge hit! She did make a couple of modifications: she used regular lime juice instead of key lime juice and only had enought for 1/2 cup each batch; she didn't have the nuts for the topping so that was omitted; and she didn't have lime peel. Still a very delicious dessert! Just the right amount of lime and the coconut on top really made the dessert. Will definitely be having this dessert again!

Lolomac--you might have patted the crust mixture down too firmly. I did that with a graham cracker crust not long ago and it was hard as a rock--tasted good but tough to cut.
