I assumed all bread crumbs were the same. The ones that you buy at the store are not "soft bread crumbs" which is why your mixture seems dry and crumbly. However, I still use them but add a little bit of olive oil and whatever Italian style dressing I have in the house. I don't add a lot, just enough to make it stick together a little bit.

My mixture was not solid - it stayed the consistency of the bread crumbs. Did I do something wrong? Is there a quick way to fix this??

I have always made these mushrooms for my family. They are a favorite at my dinner table. Sometimes I add sausage or mashed up meatballs. Yummy!

I would reduce the breadcrumbs by HALF. I used baby portabellas. Next time, they would get 5 spoons, but this recipe was way too crumby

I agree this is a delicious recipe, devoured completely at my recent Thanksgiving feast. But I suggest using Panko bread crumbs for some crunchiness, and adding a bit more salt. I doubled the stuffing and punched up the flavor a bit. I will make this again for a yummy sidedish.

These are wonderful! My mushrooms were a little dry so needed 5 minutes longer in the oven, bit of water in the pan to steam did the trick; great flavors.

These are a MUST BRING for all family gatherings. My daughter added sausage to the recipe ( cook and drain prior to mixing with other ingredients). Top it off with mozzerella cheese topping. YUMMMMMMMMMM

The stuffing to these mushrooms was very flavorful, but my husband and I were looking for a heartier mushroom when we made these for a meal. Button mushrooms just didn''t make the grade - next time I''ll try using protabello mushrooms and I think they will be perfect.

I''ve made these mushrooms on several occasions and many times double the recipe. My friends/family love them.I many times overstuff the mushrooms w/ more of the breadcrumb mixture. It''s just wonderful. And very easy to make.
