1
tablespoon active dry yeast
1/4
cup warm water (110° to 115°F)
1
cup milk
1/4
cup butter
1 1/2
tablespoon sugar
1/2
teaspoon salt
1
egg white, beaten until frothy
3 3/4
cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
3/4
cup butter, melted
1/4
Kosher salt
  1. In small bowl dissolve yeast in warm water. Set aside. In small saucepan, heat milk and butter until milk is hot and butter is melted.
  2. In large mixing bowl, combine milk and melted butter, sugar, salt, 2 cups of flour and yeast mixture. Add beaten egg white; beat until smooth. Stir in remaining 1¾ cup flour to form soft dough.
  3. Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, turning to grease all sides. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  4. Punch dough down. Divide dough in to six pieces. On lightly floured surface; roll one piece of dough in to a 3/8-inch thick by 10-inch piece. Using a pizza cutter cut dough into 3/8” strips of dough. Place on greased baking sheets about ¼ inch apart.
  5. Bake at 350°F. 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from cookie sheet and brush with melted butter and sprinkle with salt.
