Sand and Sun stated in their review that Betty Crocker did not include crescent rolls in the recipe, but they are shown in the picture. Crescent rolls are clearly stated in the ingredient list and referred to in the directions. This was really good and I will make it again.

I made this tonight. Just followed the directions. It was a huge hit. Will definitely make again. I did not have a glass dish so I used a dark non stick and it worked just as well. Crust was flakey and perfect. 5 stars.

I made this dish for the first time tonight and made a few adjustments/additions and it turned out absolutely amazing! Here are my changes: - I coated my glass dish with garlic butter to add extra crispiness and flavor to the crescent roll dough (success!) and stretched it thin to create the crust. - Instead of the 1 pound of ground beef, as a [slightly] healthier alternative, I used .4 lb ground turkey breast and .4 lb of Italian sausage. I browned both together, added some Italian seasoning and extra garlic and proceeded to follow the recipe as written (added the pasta sauce, bringing to a boil). - In my opinion, an Italian dish isn't complete without pasta, so I added the cheese over the crescent roll dough, as called for in the directions, but then added approximately 2-2.5 cups low-carb rotini pasta and proceeded to add the meat/sauce mixture and topped that off with just a little bit more cheese and folded the narrow ends of the crescent roll dough over the mixture. - Lastly, I added more garlic butter over the narrow ends of the crescent roll dough to add just a little more flavor and crispiness. Then, I added the remaining cheese over though dough as written in the directions. Simply delicious! I promise!

Sand N Sun 1120 should probably re-read the recipe as it clearly states what to do with the crescent rolls to create the top crust. "...with narrow tips overlapping rim of plate about 3 inches." Meaning leave some of the crescent dough hanging out of the pan. Which, after adding the meat and cheese, you are to: "Bring tips of dough over filling to meet in center; do not overlap." As for the crust not being flaky and crisp on the bottom, why would you expect it to be when it is covered with meat, sauce and cheese? My opinion; this is a very good recipe if you follow the directions as written.

Check the picture and then read the directions through....BC, this is NOT a photo of the end result!! The crust will not end up "flaky" and crisp on the BOTTOM of the pan - there are no crescent rolls called for on top in the BC directions, yet they are shown in the photo. I have made a similar recipe a few times with good results...same beef, sauce and cheese measurements, but put beef/sauce combo in pie plate first, then top with cheese, then TOP with crescent rolls. Bake same as this recipe. MUCH better results...this original recipe per BC will come out with gooey base crust. (Also try with ground turkey and enough bbq sauce to make it "wet"...very good!)

I made this last night. It was so good. I might add some onions while I am browning the ground meat next time.

Had problems placing the dough at first, once I got that done this was quick and easy to make. My family liked the dish enough to want it again. My family likes more flavor so next time will add more garlic, etc. that should make this a good one to have in my weekly meal rotation.

I didn't like this dish. I have a hard time making sure the dough gets cook through or get over-cooked.
