My, what a pie! A savory blend of cheddar cheese and broccoli in a pie that makes its own crust while it bakes.

I have found this a quick easy recipe to have on hand. I prefer red peppers to the green pepper. You can use also small amounts of leftover vegetables. I cook the broccoli and or cauliflower in the microwave because it is easier and quicker. I took this pie to a potluck luncheon where it was very well recieved. They called it a quiche. This recipe is only limited by your imagination.

So... I think that the salt, Romano Cheese and sharp cheddar were too much. I found it to be too salty. I think next time I will only add the romano and leave out the salt. Also, I think the bisquick batter should be increased because the end result was pretty thin and overly cheesy. I shredded my own sharp cheddar from a block of cheese that I had. I didn't even use a 1/2 cup and I found it to be too much. Keep that in mind when you try this.

Just made my own version of this from what I had on hand. Broccoli, Sharp Cheddar, Romano, Dry Mustard, and sauteed white onion with minced garlic. I added this to the original recipe's ingredients. It looks good and I think the Romano will solve the "bland" problem I have been reading about. Next time I'll make sure I have some cooked ham to add. I'll let you know how it turned out when it comes out of the oven!

MY family and friends LOVE this pie! I made it for the first time in 1985 for a potluck at work. And every potluck thereafter when the sign in sheet was passed around someone had written in my name for what they called "Vegetable Quiche". And every time I made it, my husband and son would say "how you never make that for us?" Needless to say I made it once and it quickly became a family favorite. So much so, that my husband would volunteer to have me make it for his company potlucks! Can't wait to try it with some of the great suggestions!

Great recipe. I added lots of veggies which I sauteed first and added herbs and spices. Even better the next day. Thanks!

Very good and very easy to make! I steamed my broccoli and then mixed the onion and pepper in right away to kind of pre cook them also. Will be making this again!

I have been making this recipe coming up on 30 years. I got the recipe from a co-worker who brought it for a pot luck. The pie is virtually impossible to mess up. I use what every veggies and cheese I have and it always turns out great. Made this last night with left over grilled zucchini, yellow squash -- added in frozen broccoli and fresh onions. It was great.

I made this in a 10 Pampered Chef pan. I did not pre cook the broccoli but rather chopped it and sprinkled it, the peppers, onion and cheese in the bottom of the pan. I mixed 1 and 1/2 the recipe poured over ingredients added more provolone and muenster cheese and baked for 30 min. This turned out AMAZING and will make it again. Very versatile with many fresh veggies.
