tablespoon butter or margarine

large onion, chopped (1 cup)

can (5 oz) tuna, drained
1
cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz)
1/2
cup Original Bisquick® mix
1
cup milk
1/8
teaspoon pepper
2
eggs
1
medium tomato, thinly sliced

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 400°F. Spray 9-inch pie plate with cooking spray. In 10-inch skillet, melt butter over low heat. Add onion; cook, stirring occasionally, until tender. Sprinkle tuna, 1/2 cup of the cheese and the onion in pie plate.
  • 2 In medium bowl, stir remaining ingredients except tomato with wire whisk or fork until blended. Pour into pie plate.
  • 3 Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Top with tomato slices and remaining 1/2 cup cheese. Bake 3 to 5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

Create a Tuna Melt Pie.Use 2 tablespoons butter or margarine instead of 1 tablespoon, and substitute 1 cup cubed prepared cheese product loaf (4 oz) for the shredded Cheddar cheese.

I have been making this since Bisquick first published it...my family hangs around the stove waiting for me to take it from the oven...This is one of our favorites. The other favorite is Impossible Cheeseburger Pie...Hubby can't get enough :)

I tried this for the first time the other night. Family loves Impossible Pies...My Hubby raved the whole time we were eating.. Everyone loved it :) I used Mexican Shredded Cheese because I had it on hand... Yummy ! I'll be making it again soon !
