Since our first time making this recipe, we have removed the apple and added a little more cheese and ham. Sometimes if I haven't had ham, I have substituted with bacon, fantastic! This dish has become one of our go-to recipes.

I made a huge ham last night and was looking for something different to do with the leftovers. I had all the ingredients needed for this pie except for the green onion so I substituted regular onion. I should have cooked it a little ahead of time so it wasn't so strong. Other than that, it was wxcellent and everyone loved it. I should have made 2 because there are no leftovers and we all could have eaten more!! Will definately make again and share with friends. Thanks for a quick and easy meal!!

Made a different version of this recipe with red potatoes (boiled first) instead of apples and added a little cheese soup to give it a sauce and it was delicious!! I also used cubed ham as someone else said. My kids even ate it and they are VERY picky!

This was very good. It had a nice flavor and texture. The outside got a little crispy, but when you picked up a slice, some of the ham fell out of the bottom. It wasn't a big deal though. It was so simple to make, too! I will make it again.

This is absolutely one of our favorite recipes. We have made it several times a month for the last year or so, and it is great every time. I suggest doubling the apple unless you are using a very large apple. Prep time is more like 15-20 minutes unless you chop very quickly (I'm somewhat slow).
