EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

Some of our favorite varieties of apples for baked pies and desserts are Empire, Regent and Spartan.

For more fiber and color, don't peel the apples before slicing them.

To ensure recipe success if using a vegetable oil spread, use a spread with at least 65% vegetable oil.

To make luscious Impossibly Easy French Pear Pie, substitute 3 cups sliced peeled pears for the apples.

I love the impossible pumpkin Pie mainly because we are not big pastry eaters. Can you use canned apples or cherries in an impossible pie?

I have been making this pie for years, Love it! This is my favorite apple pie, and the crumb topping works great on pumpkin pie & sweet potato casserole, family requests every year.

prepared this tonight with apples going off, so had to do something quick. could not see computer screen very well and make a mistake...added Bisquick & sugar to the bowl of 4 cut up apples [w/lemon] yikes ! I just went ahead and added all the ingredients the correct way after tossing the apples and sugar around in pie dish. then for the topping added more Bisquick and sugar etc. My husband could not stop eating it. He topped his HOT pie with vanilla ice cream. I joined him but instead of ice cream added grated extra sharp cheddar cheese. It melted on top. It's now a family favorite for sure. Hope I can remember how I got to this point...Delicious!
