I have been making this pie for years, Love it! This is my favorite apple pie, and the crumb topping works great on pumpkin pie & sweet potato casserole, family requests every year.

prepared this tonight with apples going off, so had to do something quick. could not see computer screen very well and make a mistake...added Bisquick & sugar to the bowl of 4 cut up apples [w/lemon] yikes ! I just went ahead and added all the ingredients the correct way after tossing the apples and sugar around in pie dish. then for the topping added more Bisquick and sugar etc. My husband could not stop eating it. He topped his HOT pie with vanilla ice cream. I joined him but instead of ice cream added grated extra sharp cheddar cheese. It melted on top. It's now a family favorite for sure. Hope I can remember how I got to this point...Delicious!

This is a great pie but I go ahead and add a bottom and top crust and then use the crumble on top of that. It makes it more like a pie and seems to keep the sweetness at doable level. Otherwise it is easy and can be made with just about any fruit you choose.

I tried this for the first time and my family liked it. It was a little too sweet because I used a mix of Fuji & Braeburn apples - both are sweet apples, so next time I'll use less sugar. I also used the Heart Healthy Bisquick instead of original. I skipped the chopped nuts in the streusel and replaced with about 1/4 cup of Quick Oats to cut even more fat and calories. I cut it into 8 servings instead of 6, so my version came to about 170 calories per serving.

Hey I tried this recipe tonight for my family and we loved it. I did modify the recipe after reading some reviews. Of course I used the apples that I already had which were fugi. I also added 1/2 cup of applesauce. I cooked the pie for 1 hour on 325 and let cool about 15 minutes. I was great. I guess greatness is the mouth of the pie maker. LOL

Listed as a pie but it's more of an apple crisp as others have mentioned. Tried this one to avoid a crust...should have stuck with a reg apple pie. Was not a big hit in my house.
