This was Delish!! I took the advise of one of the above and spread a thick layer of refried beans on the bottom of the pan first and I also used salsa instead of tomatoes and onions. It was a big hit and I will definitely make it again! (oh, and use extra cheese too!!-I used a mexican mix)

Made this twice. Seems the quantities for the Bisquick and the Milk are reversed. 1 Cup of Bisquick and 1/2 Cup of Milk works better and conforms to the instructions on the Bisquick box. When I used the quantities in the recipe it overflowed the pan and did not form a crust on the bottom or sides.

I only gave this four spoons because it was on the bland side for my and my bf's tastes. The kiddos ate it up though! (Except for the 7 year old whom, by the way, is extremely picky. I think she was expecting a sweet, fruity pie! lol. She DID have fun making it with me though!). Next time I might sub salsa in for the tomatoe and onion or sprinkle in some red pepper flakes. Nice change from Hamburger Helper.

i finally know what to do with leftover chili! there is never enough left to feed the entire family for another night's worth of dinner, but when whipped up as a chili pie, paired with some fresh salad and corn...this makes a wonderful left-overs dish!! and it took 3 minutes to make the batter portion and toss it over some chees on top of the chili! i used one less egg and it still came out perfect!

Very easy and tasty! Followed the recipe exactly, except I didn't have the chili mix on hand. I just threw in some chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and paprika instead and my family loved it! We topped it with some salsa and sour cream. I love these recipes that taste time-consuming, but are not!

This is actually an upside down pie. The photo is a little misleading. It could use some more chopped onions, and a little more chopped canned tomatoes. Refried beans would go good on the bottom of the pan. Salsa might be nice on top in place of the chopped fresh tomatoes. I put some more cheese on it when I served it.
