From Betty's Soul Food Collection... Flat out the best cornbread there is for serving with salad or soup, it’s also ready in 15 minutes. The trick is mixing your batter with boiling water. Try it tonight!

This was my first time making hot water cornbread... The patties turned out great! My boyfriend loved them and wanted more. Next time, I will have to get more mix/batter so I can have more for myself...

Very delicious!!! I have always wanted to make the "perfect" hot water cornbread. This recipt is VERY quick and simple. The cornbread turns out right EVERYTIME! Everyone loves it! It tastes so good...crispy and with the right touch of "sweetness" just like homemade!!! The patties are great alone, with down home southern collard greens...or turnip greens, or chili beans (actually with ANY meal)! I have definitely added "Betty's Hot Water Cornbread Patties" to MY "recipe collection!"
