Honey Nut-Marshmallow Bars

Marshmallows, butter and organic honey nut cereal make an easy microwave treat. No baking is needed.

bag (10.5 oz) miniature marshmallows

tablespoons butter

cups Cascadian Farm® organic honey nut O's cereal

  • 1 Butter bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan.
  • 2 In large microwavable bowl, microwave marshmallows and butter uncovered on High about 2 minutes, stirring after every minute, until smooth.
  • 3 Immediately stir in cereal until evenly coated. Press in pan. Cool about 30 minutes or until firm. For bars, cut into 6 rows by 4 rows. Store loosely covered.

Expert Tips

You can make the marshmallow mixture on the stovetop. In 3-quart saucepan, melt marshmallows and butter over low heat, stirring until marshmallows are melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat.

If you like, stir in 1 cup chopped peanuts with the cereal.

These are delicious! I prefer them over the rice cereal bars. I added one cup of chopped honey roasted peanuts. It made a big difference adding another flavor.

In an effort to lower my cholesteral I have been forcing myself to eat a bowl of cheerios every morning. THAT WAS..until I found this recipe..Now I can have my healthy snack in a sweet cholesteral free treat!VERY yummy
