At the risk of appearing disloyal to my aunt, I have to say that this recipe did work a bit better than hers. Admittedly, they did go a little flat, but they taste marvelous and I had no difficulty getting them to come out of the press, which is occasionally tricky.

Tried them today and they all went flat. Had 2 trays the first was put in oven right after I mixed it,they went flat. The second I put in the fridge for about 30 min. Well they went flat also. They tasted great but flat. I'll stick to my grandma's recipe from Sweden that uses 3 warm hard boiled egg yolks mixed with the suger. Plus it takes crushed cardamon seed,this gives the cookies a great flavor.

I remember pulling out my mom's (well loved) Betty Crocker cookbook to make these every Christmas as a child. 5 or 6 cookie-presses (and many years) later, I still make them for family and friends.

My grandma made these cookies years ago, and once I was born my mom carried on the tradition by baking them with me every year. 25 years later it's one of our most treasured traditions and they're still among the most requested treats by family and friends each year. We decorate with green & red sugar crystals. Enjoy!

I loooove these cookies!!! My grandma made the Xmas tree cookies every year for the holidays, along with lots of others. These have always been my favorite cookies! Thanks for sharing this family favorite!!
