Why wait for the holidays to make a chewy, fruit- and nut-packed homemade cookie? They're delicious.

This was a holiday favorite when I was a child in the 60s. They went in the cookie plates for our extended family, and were always a big hit. I don't eat many cookies now, but it is a joy just to find old favorite recipes.

My aunt used to make these when I was very young, I am 53 now and I remember her hiding these in the attic because she said the older they get the better they taste and we couldn't eat them until Christmas. I have to admit when I make them I let them sit for a week or longer and they DO taste richer with more flavor than the day you make them! Anyone else find this to be true?

These are one of my favorite cookies ever...I am 54 and have been enjoying these cookies ever since I was a little girl. These were always a tradition while growing up for the Christmas holiday...So I have continued making them evan as an adult....I lost my recipe 2 days before Christmas and my sister thought maybe I could find it on your website....Wow...I was so pleased...Now I can continue my tradition and pass it on to my grandkids. Thank you. Kathy Kern of North Port, Fl.

This cookie is my all time favorite holiday cookie. The type of fruit, the chewiness of the cookie make it delightful and everyone I have served one of these cookies to has loved it! I received a Betty Crocker Cookie Book for my 16th Christmas from my Godmother. That recipe book opened up a whole new world for me. Now in tatters from use for 41 years by myself, my children, my foster children and now my grandchildren I was sad to find my holiday fruit drop cookie recipe missing. Then it struck me that I could acquire it on-line. Thank you for this web site and outstanding recipes that have endured for generations.

My sister-in-law gave me this recipe last year and I was hooked from the first bite. They are as good as they look, and a delightful change from all the chocolate we make this time of year.%0d%0a

My family does not like "traditional" fruit cake, but loves these cookies. I have been making them for over 35 years! I originally found the recipe in Betty Crocker "Cookie Book".%0d%0aDiana, Houston, TX
