Savory Popcorn Mix

Ingredients

  • 6 cups hot-air-popped popcorn
  • 2 cups fat-free pretzel sticks
  • 1 cup tiny fish-shaped crackers
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 1/8 teaspoon red pepper sauce

    Heat oven to 300°. Mix popcorn, pretzels and crackers in ungreased rectangular pan, 13x9x2 inches. Mix remaining ingredients; drizzle over popcorn mixture. Toss until evenly coated.

    Bake uncovered about 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes, until toasted. Store in airtight container at room temperature.

  • Popcorn gives you a lot of munch for your mouth! Not only is it a whole-grain snack, it’s also fat free when hot-air popped.
  • If you don’t have a hot air popper or don’t want to take the time to pop popcorn, purchase popped corn from the grocery store. Just check to see that it is the “light” variety.
  • Although fish-shaped crackers are typically Cheddar flavored, try other varieties of fish crackers, such as pizza or Parmesan cheese, or go crazy with color and use the rainbow-colored fish crackers.
