These cookies are delicious! I added alittle extra vanilla because I love vanilla. I used the receipe for the cookies at Easter so instead of making hearts I cut out shapes of Easter bunnies, etc. I gave them out as gifts to relatives and received alot of compliments. I'm going to do the same for this Christmas. The sugar glaze is good too, but does add alittle extra sweetness so I made some plain. I also suggest giving yourself extra time because it took me longer than the time it says and depending on how creative you get with the decorating it can take a while as well. I made the cookies one day and did the decorating the next day. The sugar glaze needs a little time to dry before you put them on a cookie tray because otherwise it will stick to other cookies. I definitely recommend this recipe though!

I made these cookies for a special treat and they turned out horrible. There was an aftertaste of ginger and made the cookies a disaster.I will never make these cookies again.

These cookies were delicous!!! I used a smaller cookie cutter to make them and froze half the dough, and made about 2 dozen cookies. I used my own icing (not the recipe shown)and served the cookies on Valentines Day. They were all gone in a few minutes, and only 5 of us were esting them! I would definetly recomend them!!

i received a betty crocker cookie cookbook as a wedding shower gift in 1950. there was a receipe in it for a sugar cookie that was better than any other sugar cookie i had or ever have made...it called for powdered sugar instead of granulated. in the many moves i have made over the years the cookbook was lost. i bought another betty crocker cookie cookbook for that receipe. it's a favorite of my kids and grandchildren.

Made these for my grand daughter to take to school for a birthday treat instead of cupcakes and they were a big hit and they were very very tasty.
