EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

We've replaced ingredients with great-tasting alternatives to create better-for-you recipes that are just as yummy as the original.

If fresh peaches are available, use 4 cups sliced peeled peaches instead of the canned peaches. Or, you can use a 16-oz bag of frozen sliced peaches, thawed.

The lemon juice used in this recipe adds a little sparkle that perks up the peach flavor.

This recipe is not for anyone looking to make a traditional cobbler with light crusty biscuit on top. In fact, it was like a rather soggy bread pudding. All that is in it is fresh peaches, biscuit batter and a reasonable about of sugar, so it was tasty, but look elsewhere if you want something more like grandma used to make. I do not know if it would have worked better with regular instead of heart healthy mix.
