The folks at Betty Crocker have done it again: given us mere mortals great, easy repcies my whole family can enjoy. The best thing about this book is that the repcies aren't made from weird food you have to hunt for; they are made from items already in your kitchen. And they are repcies anyone can eat for good health. So, if one member of your family has diabetes, the whole family can eat this food and love it.The repcies are great, especially the desserts. And you thought you couldn't eat dessert with diabetes! The Carbohydrate Choices is a great counting device. I've never seen it in any other cookbook and I find it much easier to use than exchanges. Plus, it's not just a cookbook. There's doctor's advice and management plans inside. This book is very uplifting and practical.GET THIS BOOK! IT'S THE BEST DIABETES COOKBOOK, hands down.

Awful. I was hoping that this would drown out the avocado taste for myself and my kids, but it didn't. I would rather use just the box and add the dressing to that. Much better than this recipe. Not to mention, they should take the "healthier" out of this Title.

seven ratings, a total of 14 spoons. That averages out to two spoons overall, NOT three!! How shocked I was when, after reading "healthier banana nut muffins," I see the main ingredient is a mix!!! Not a healthy recipe at all!!

Notice the "Healthier" in the title. Of course most anything Betty Crocket isn't 'healthy' within the guide lines of what 'healthier' people would think. As stated below, the actual muffin mix has unhealthy ingredients, but to who's standards? Especially because to some people, sneaking in a avocado into a treat (also notice this is a treat, not a everyday thing [hopefully]) is a huge step. But for people that do acknowledge the unhealthy ingredients lingering in the muffin mix (including me), we atleast acknowledge it and know that maybe, even with the avocado, this really isn't what we consider healthy at all, so maybe we could find a even healthier treat else where. But in the end, eat in moderation, but make sure to include the fact that 'proccessed foods' is a category, not just specific food items (if it's not, it certainly should be). But as also stated below, A+ on presentation.

The Muffin Mix has corn syrup, hydrogenated oils and BHT among other artificial and unknown/hard to pronounce ingredients. Nothing healthy here except, for some, the avocado. I keep hoping Betty Crocker will rethink their choice of ingredients. A+ for appearance!

What's considered healthy for one person may not be appropriate for another regarding their dietary needs and restrictions. Avocados are a "healthy" food and this is a nice twist on an old favorite. Use your own judgement when reading/trying a new recipe. Nutritional information is printed on the box of muffin mix and then you add the appropriate info for the avocado, etc to get a idea of how many calories are in it. Leave off the frosting if you are worried. Don't knock it until you've tried it. If you are worried about calories, you shouldn't be eating muffins anyway...just eat the banana and a handful of nuts.
