I apologize, I really don't have a review, but a question: Is it possible to substitute the lighter version of Bisquick for the original in this recipe? Because this sounds WONDERFUL! (although I think I would substitute cinnamon for the ginger as others have done), and I'd like to make it, if I can lower the calorie/fat count a bit. Thanks!

Yummy! The first time I made it I only had apples, plus I replaced the ginger with cinnamon. So the 2nd time.....I kept it the same. My 11 year old grandson loved it. This is a "keeper".

Not caring a lot for ginger I replaced the 2Tbs in the compote with 1 tsp of cinnamon and the 1/2 tsp called for in the topping with 1/2 tsp of cinnamon. It turned out great.

Really liked this cobbler; however, I thought it was a little heavy on the ginger. Like ginger, then this is really the recipe for you. Like a hint of ginger, then perhaps cut the crystalized ginger down to 1 Tablespoon. I didn't find it in the spices section as indicated in the Kitchen Tips. Could only find crystalized lemon and lime. Found it with the Hawaiian food section, but then, we do live in HI. As for the pears, do follow the tips & get them still firm. I was afraid they'd be too firm, but they cooked up nicely. If they were ripe, they'd get too mushy by the end of baking time.

Very good cobbler and can be made with different blends of fruit. I did change the ginger in the topping for fresh grated nutmeg.
