I made this cake for my daughter's sweet 16 birthday party. The recipe was super easy to follow, the only hard thing were the number-buttons. (The icing was hard to frost on such little surfaces.) And, I made the phone purple instead of pink, a very minor detail. But, all the guests adored it and my daughter was so happy when she saw it.

I love this. For the most part I followed the recipe. I used a red velvet cake and covered it in cream cheese frosting. The cream cheese was still light colored enough to dye pink. I used a pink Twizzler instead of pixy sticks (I don't like them). I also used Mike and Ikes for the green power button on the left and the red power off button on the right. I used a circle breath mint for a center scroll button then I piped pink icing around them. After I wrote out my "txt msg" on the "screen" I covered the whole "screen" portion in clear sparkly sugar. Super Cute.. All the kids at a teenaged party loved it. They kept saying how'd you make a cake a phone?...lol This is definatly a FIVE SPOON idea!!
