A Hanukkah tradition, these crescent-shaped cookies are made with a rich, tender cream cheese dough rolled up with a cinnamon-spiced pistachio-date filling.

I used this recipe for a church cookie swap and give-away. We try to have a good variety of cookies, and everyone thought these were a fancy and elegant addition. They are not an overly sweet cookie; more spicy-nutty. A little time-intensive, but worth the work, and there is no waste or re-rolling to use up dough, as there is with cut-out cookies. They are not very large cookies, more like bite-sized, so one recipe makes a lot.
