Just a pinch of nutmeg adds unexpected and appealing flavor to this basic creamy noodle dish.

I found it a little bland. It could have used some onions and salt. I'm wondering if it's because I couldn't find gravy packets that were 1 or more ounces.

I've made this recipe for years without mushrooms. It's very good both ways.

My husband hates mushrooms!!has anyone tried this without them? I've made other stroganoff recipes without the mushrooms (sometimes I sneak in Cream of Mushroom soup) & it was good. Anyway, any thoughts? PS I love mushrooms!! Marriage is compromise lol

This was really good!! I normally make it with cream of mushroom soup and beefy mushroom soup, with a can of mushrooms. Then there is no salt needed. But this recipe is easier on the wallet. Add some salt to it, to your taste. I also added chopped onion with the hamburger as I fried it. After the hamb. was fried, I just added the water to the skillet, then the gravy packs and let it thicken while my noodles were getting done. I used 3 packs, but they were only .8 something ounces, with 2 and a little over a half cups of water. Once thickened, I added fresh sliced mushrooms (which were on sale). Threw it all together in casarole, and popped it in the oven. Half an hour later, served with biscuits, and green beans with bacon bits, onions and garlic. Fantastic meal!! Kids loved it!

This recipe was really good my whole family loved it. I did add onions and cooked them with the hamburger. Turned out really good. Is also a good make now and put in the oven later recipe for those days you know you just won't have time to put it together later.

Made this for supper tonight and both my hubby and I thought it was pretty good - like a glorified Hamburger Helper meal actually (which he loves!!) I only had one beef gravy mix in the pantry and I found a packet of stroganoff mix and I used that along with about an extra half cup of water because the stroganoff package was larger than the gravy one. I never actually measured anything, just "threw" it together and shoved it in the oven. It was surprisingly better than the other stroganoff recipes I have used in the past, with sliced sirloin strips and more ingredients. I will be making this again in the future. I served it with hot crusty rolls and steamed peas.

I just made this. Pretty good. I have no idea what stroganoff is suppose to taste like. I added extra salt. I feel like it needs some cheese on it but have no idea what kind to add. My 3 year old and hubby love it.

I really liked this recipe, although I varied some of the ingredients. I used ground turkey and turkey gravy packages. I also added two chopped green onions. I used homemade egg noodles. I did not add nutmeg. Very delicious!

Didn't know what to make last night so I decided to try this recipe and I'm so glad I did. The nutmeg really did add a great taste to this dish. My husband liked it alot too and he does not usually eat Stroganoff. This is easy to make, and tastes like it took alot more effort than it actually did.
